I love back to school hacks!
The twins wanted awesome back to school supplies with designs they like, so I had to get creative! I came up with a way to personalize everything from backpacks, binders, notebooks, & pencil bags when I saw fabric transfer labels and sticker labels in the middle of back to school shopping.
Here’s what I found:
Fabric transfer paper: https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/391213/Avery-Light-Fabric-T-Shirt-Transfers/?cm_mmc=YT-_-AQ-_-INF-_-INVU&cm_mmca1=Earned&cm_mmca2=uf
Sticker sheets: https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/393926/Avery-Full-Sticker-Project-Paper-4397/?cm_mmc=YT-_-AQ-_-INF-_-INVU&cm_mmca1=Earned&cm_mmca2=uf
Now, here’s how to make those personalized back to school supplies.
First, the kids scoured the internet for what themes they wanted. Grace loves pineapples and flamingos and she wanted to design her own backpack with a matching journal. Kj loves video games and couldn’t find any back-to-school Fortnite notebooks anywhere. We ordered and purchased the clipart online. Using a photo editing software, I created letter sized pages with different sized of the banners and clipart.
If you want to put your designs on fabric, like backpacks and fabric binders you need to use the fabric transfer paper. Right before you print, you must reverse the page so it’s backwards. That way when you iron it on, it will look normal.
For the fabric transfer, you must print out the sheets on an inkjet printer. I needed a new one so I bought and inexpensive one while I was shopping for the labels and supplies.
Next, I printed out the lables, cut out the decals and used an iron to iron flamingos and pineapples on the backpack, as well as the Fortnite logos on an Avery cloth binder.
To save you time, here are links to the labels I designed for the fabric transfers.

If you want to go super easy, go the sticker route.
First, use the editing software to create your pages with logos and decals.
Next, save it in a png format so it comes out with a clear background on the sticker paper. You do NOT want to reverse the page in the photo editing process for the sticker sheets. just save as you see it. Email or bring in the files to the printing department and they will print out the labels on the sticker paper. If you have a printer, you can prit them at home on an inkjet or laser printer. Cut the decals out, remove the backing and personalize your notebooks, binders, & pretty much everything with a flat surface. Grace put a flamingo on her journal, and KJ made a Fortnite Dance moves binder. To save you time, here are links to the sheets I created. You can just have them printed out.
